Guangming Hot Pot
Located at the original marketplace where Xindian first began, Guangming Canteen has been in operation since 1954 (Minguo Year 43). Its signature home-style dishes are cherished memories for many long-time Xindian residents, and the three-generation family soup recipe remains the essence of Guangming Canteen’s flavor. The restaurant’s name continues the cultural heritage of Guangming Street, offering “Guangming Stone Hot Pot” to carry on these delicious traditions, creating a traditional yet modern dining interior design.
Inspired by combining the place name with Taiwan’s traditional “light-offering” blessings, each table is equipped with a vintage marquee light above, featuring a randomly flashing prize-selection function. Beyond ordering through the lights, the bulbs can also flash to indicate in-store promotions, such as simple prize games or Q&A activities. This not only increases customer engagement but also adds playful visual interaction while enhancing the dining experience.
The interior design incorporates classic Taiwanese elements, using traditional Taiwanese-style furniture and décor such as round Taiwanese tables, vintage metal chairs, patterned wall tiles, white tiles, terrazzo flooring, and decorative concrete breeze blocks. Contemporary touches are added through vibrant warm interior colors, tableware, and hand-drawn illustrations, blending tradition with modern style.
